A 1024×500 banner image used in featuring and recommendation placements and required for a promo video to show.
What is Feature graphic?
The feature graphic is a wide image uploaded in Play Console: 1024 × 500 pixels, JPEG or 24-bit PNG, with no transparency. Google Play uses it in some placements and requires it before your promo video can be shown.
Why it matters for ASO
It appears in some of the most visible placements, and without it your video won’t display. A poor graphic makes a good app look careless.
How to improve it
- Keep key content in the centre — it may be cropped.
- Leave the middle clear if you have a video (a play button may be overlaid).
- Use your brand colours and a single short message.
