Striking-distance keyword
A keyword where you already rank just outside the top spots (about #4–20), so a small push can bring many more visitors.
What is Striking-distance keyword?
Striking-distance keywords are ones Google Play already considers you relevant for, but where you sit below the first few results. They’re often the fastest ASO wins.
Why it matters for ASO
Taps concentrate on the first few results. Moving from #14 to #6 usually matters far more than moving from #70 to #40.
How to improve it
- List keywords ranked #4–20.
- Keep the ones that match your core value.
- Use the phrase earlier and more naturally in your text.
- Match your first screenshot to the search intent.
- Measure over two to four weeks.
How to measure it
ASODrift’s Keyword opportunities card lists these as quick wins after every check.
