What is In-App Review API?
The In-App Review API shows a Google Play rating card inside your app. Google controls how often it can appear (a quota), so a call won’t always show the dialog.
Why it matters for ASO
Asking at the right moment brings more honest reviews, which improves your rating and conversion.
How to improve it
- Trigger it after a success moment, not on first launch or after an error.
- Don’t ask a question before it (e.g. “Do you like the app?”).
- Don’t attach it to a button — because of the quota the dialog may not appear; link to the Play listing instead.
