Acquisition report

Play Console data showing where your store listing visitors and installs come from.

What is Acquisition report?

Acquisition reports in Play Console break down how people reach your listing and install — for example from Google Play search, from browsing and recommendations, or from outside Google Play (links, ads, your website) — with visitors, installs and conversion by source and country. They also list search terms that led to visits and installs.

Why it matters for ASO

You can’t improve what you can’t see. Acquisition data shows whether a problem is discovery (few visitors) or conversion (visitors who don’t install), and which channels and countries are worth investing in.

How to improve it

  1. Compare search vs explore vs external traffic month over month.
  2. Check conversion by country to spot markets that need localization.
  3. Use the search terms list as a source of proven keywords.
  4. Tag external links with UTM parameters so campaigns appear separately.

How to measure it

Watch visitors, installs and conversion rate per source; a drop in search visitors often means keyword rankings slipped.
